Chapter 6 - Arrival

Kaposvar, Hungary and Auschwitz, Poland - July 5-July 8, 1944

The lies they tell people.... It was probably to make things go more smoothly, but why bother with that when you're throwing people out of a train, and the old & insane people onto a funeral pyre to be set on fire? It's sad that they'll never see Nana again, though...

  1. - is nana a little senile? in this situation, saying you're prefer a bath? and requesting to just be let down out of the train?

-it was definately to keep things going 'smoothly', tell people that they wont be seeing anyone again will cause lots of trouble, (more) mass hysterics and such. i see what you're getting at though... theres lotssss of contradictions in behavior that i dont understand..

    - jutka would probably be happy nana got out of it so quickly. she suffered less than those deemed right-worthy.
